DiverCity
DiverCity is a transnational partnership bringing together municipalities, civil society organizations, and community actors from seven countries: Greece, Slovenia, Italy, Albania, Romania, Cyprus, and Serbia. The consortium combines local authorities with experienced NGOs working closely with communities, ensuring both institutional capacity and grassroots engagement.
About The Project:
DiverCity is a Network of Towns project within the CERV strand that brings together municipalities and civil society organizations to promote inclusion, diversity, and active citizenship across local communities. By connecting partners from different countries, the project creates a collaborative space for sharing experiences, strengthening capacities, and developing practical solutions to address discrimination and social exclusion.
At its core, DiverCity focuses on empowering local authorities and citizens to work together in building more open, democratic, and resilient societies. Through workshops, public events, awareness campaigns, and participatory initiatives, the project encourages dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect for diversity in all its forms.
In addition, DiverCity fosters strong collaboration between different sectors such as social services, cultural organizations, and local government. This cross-sectoral approach helps create more coordinated responses to social exclusion and strengthens networks of solidarity at the local and European levels. The vision of DiverCity is to co-create solutions with a view to building more inclusive local communities.
DiverCity seeks to transform diversity into a shared strength and ensure that inclusion becomes a lasting priority in local governance and everyday life, by combining policy development with community-based actions.
